Richard W. Hoffman
was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1957. He received his undergraduate
degree from Ohio State University in 1980, and his law degree from
the University of Toledo.
Admitted to
the Florida Bar in 1984, Hoffman spent over a decade as a defense
attorney defending nursing homes and extended care facilities.
In 1998 he joined
Leeds Colby Paris Spence Hoffman & Valori where he concentrated
on medical negligence cases including medical malpractice and birth
trauma litigation.
Hoffman also
has significant experience in presenting claims against law enforcement
agencies. He represents professionals before the Agency for Health
Care Administration as well as other regulatory bodies.
Hoffman is a
member of the Florida Bar Association and has served on its ethics
committee since 1997. He is past chair of the Bars grievance
committee. Hoffman was awarded the Child Advocacy Pro Bono Award
in 1996, and continues to represent children in Termination of Parental
Rights proceedings.
